Require a source for every claim
Ask for findings as a list where each item has the claim, the source link and the exact sentence it came from. A claim without a quote is treated as unverified.
Ask what it could not find
Add a section called “Not found or uncertain”. Models fill gaps with confident guesses unless you give them a respectable place to admit them.
Rate confidence plainly
- Confirmed: two independent sources agree.
- Single source: one source, not contradicted.
- Unverified: no source found — do not publish without checking.
Spot-check the links
Open a few links from every research run. If a quote is not on the page, treat the whole run with suspicion and tighten the prompt.
